William Edward Wagner (born July 25, 1971 in Tannersville, Virginia) is an American Major League Baseball closer for the New York Mets. Previously, Wagner pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies (2004-2005) and the Houston Astros (1995-2003). He bats and throws left-handed. He is known for his exceptional fastball, which is routinely measured around, and occasionally even exceeding, 100 MPH.
