Kimberly Denise Jones (born July 11, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York)[1], better known by her stage name Lil' Kim, is a rap artist. Kim rose to fame in the mid 1990s, selling millions of records worldwide and releasing many hit singles. When "Lady Marmalade" (2001), for which she won a Grammy Award, hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, Kim became the first female rap artist to have a U.S. number-one single. She has had seven number-one singles on the U.S. rap chart. She is the most successful female rap artist of all time. In 2005, she was found guilty of felony conspiracy and perjury and was sentenced to a prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
